This product is the Calmag CalLytic Electrolytic Scale Inhibitor 15mm SI-CALLYTIC-15.
Installing the CalLytic Mini, Electrolytic Scale Inhibitor on cold water lines protects pipework, boilers and hot water using appliances against the damaging effects of hard scale.
This electrolytic unit should be installed on cold water lines to prevent limescale from forming. The unit is suitable for use on 15mm pipework - it does not require earth bonding. Any scale that has formed around taps, sinks, showers, etc., will begin softening with regular contact with treated water. This soft scale is easier to remove than normal hard scale.
Surfaces frequently in contact with treated water are easier to clean - Shower heads are also descaled. After several months of descaling, hot water system efficiency will gradually increase.
Please note: Scale inhibitors are not suitable for eliminating hard scale in kettles. Please see Calmag water filtration for better water for drinking and cooking.

How to install the CalLytic 15mm Scale Inhibitor
Turn off the water supply.Drain relevant pipework or system where the CalMag unit is to be installed. Allow time for the system to cool down if fitted in line.Cut pipework to suit length of unit.Tighten the compression fittings to make a seal. Re-open the system slowly.Check for leaks.
