Carbon Monoxide (CO) & Smoke Alarms
Smoke alarms are designed to detect fires as early as possible and give the occupants time to leave a building. Carbon Monoxide (CO), known as the silent killer, is produced whenever there is a combustion. Water heaters, boilers, fireplaces, stoves and ovens should be maintained and vented adequately. Installing a Carbon Monoxide alarm close to such appliances will ensure that concentrations remain at a safe level.
