KNIPEX Pliers and Tools: Engineered for Professional Tradespeople

The extensive KNIPEX range delivers premium hand tools tailored for every trade. While world-class pliers remain the core focus, a complete tool assortment requires versatile, high-quality screwdrivers, cutters, and utility knives. KNIPEX provides specialized solutions across multiple tool categories to ensure you always have the right tool for the job.

Precision Pliers for Every Application

The KNIPEX catalog features high-performance pliers engineered for gripping, cutting, bending, and turning. From robust combination pliers and heavy-duty wire cutters to highly specialized crimping, stripping, and plumbing tools, our complete range is designed to offer maximum leverage, comfort, and durability.

Ergonomic and Insulated Handle Variations

To suit different working environments, KNIPEX tools are engineered with specialized handle configurations:

  • Classic Plastic Dipped: Sleek, non-slip handles ideal for standard everyday mechanical work.
  • Multi-Component Comfort Grips (Blue/Red): Dual-material sleeves that reduce hand fatigue during high-torque, repetitive tasks.
  • VDE-Insulated Grips (Yellow/Red): Individually tested sleeves designed for safe electrical work on live installations up to 1000V AC.
  • ESD-Safe Grips: Anti-static handles specifically engineered to protect delicate components when working with fine electronics.

KNIPEX Tool Cases and Storage Kits

Keep your gear organized and protected with industry-specific tool compilations. Choose from heavy-duty empty tool cases to customize your own layout, or opt for ready-made, pre-loaded tool sets expertly curated for electricians, plumbers, and industrial maintenance engineers.

KNIPEX FAQs

1. Why doesn't the pliers wrench close completely in parallel?

If you look at the closed jaws in the unloaded state, a light gap is visible in the rear gripping area of the pliers wrench. This “slot” guarantees that the jaws will lie completely parallel to the gripped workpiece under load (under load, the components always bounce a little bit).

2. My pliers are too stiff

The stiffness of a pair of pliers can have several causes: Gummed up oil can be one cause. If a pair of pliers is rarely used and is therefore never or rarely oiled, it will "seize up". A "joint flush" with thin oil can help. Spray the thin oil on the joint and now move the pliers legs back and forth briskly at least 30-50 times. Black, brown old oil should come out on the running side of the rivet and the pliers should run more smoothly again. Then, after thoroughly cleaning off, another drop of thick oil (e.g. any motor oil) should be applied to the joint.

3. What do the forged symbols on the pliers mean?

The small, forged letters or combinations of numbers and letters serve the traceability of the tools. They have the information about the forging period.

4. What is the KNIPEXtend?

KNIPEXtend is the interface at the tip of the handles. It was specially developed for attaching extensions and thus adapting the pliers to your own needs and requirements or customising them. We currently offer special KNIPEX ColorCode clips, which you can use to colour-code your pliers, and KNIPEX TetheredTool clips, which you can use to easily upgrade your pliers to tools with fall protection.
